Thailand Retreat — A Story of Presence, Culture & Quiet Magic, 2019
There was something about this retreat that felt different from the beginning.
The group was smaller, more intimate — and because of that, everything unfolded in a very natural, almost effortless way. Connections formed quickly, conversations deepened easily, and there was a sense that everyone had arrived exactly where they were meant to be.
The space itself held us beautifully. Surrounded by lush greenery, with a peaceful pond and open-air yoga shala, our days began slowly — moving, breathing, and waking up with nature. The rhythm was gentle, yet deeply nourishing.

Mornings by the Water
Morning practices took place in an open studio overlooking the water.
There was something incredibly grounding about practicing there — the stillness of the pond, the sound of nature, the warmth of the air. It created a space where it was easy to drop in, to soften, to simply be.
Yoga and meditation became less about structure, and more about presence.

Nourishment & Beauty in Every Detail
Food became part of the experience in the most beautiful way.
Every meal was thoughtfully prepared — vibrant, nourishing, and full of flavour. Thai cuisine with a subtle French touch, bringing both comfort and refinement to the table.
Sharing meals together became another way of connecting — slow, joyful, and full of appreciation.

Exploring, Wandering, Discovering
We explored beyond the retreat space too.
Walking through local markets, wandering through nature, discovering temples, architecture, and small hidden corners of Chiang Mai — each outing added another layer to the experience.
There was curiosity, laughter, and a sense of shared discovery in everything we did.
Evenings of Light & Intention
In the evenings, we gathered for quiet rituals.
Lighting lanterns, setting intentions, and simply being together in stillness — these moments carried a soft kind of magic. There was no rush, no pressure, just a shared space of reflection and presence.
It felt like a gentle way of letting go, and also of beginning again.

A Day with the Elephants
Spending a full day at the elephant sanctuary was something none of us will forget.
Being close to these gentle, powerful animals — walking beside them, feeding them, watching them move freely — was deeply moving. There was a sense of respect and connection that went beyond words.
It was one of those experiences that stays in your body long after it’s over.
Sacred Encounters & Local Traditions
One of the most memorable parts of the retreat was our connection to Thai culture.
We visited temples, received blessings from monks, and took part in rituals that felt both grounding and humbling. There was a quiet depth to these experiences — a sense of stepping into something ancient and meaningful.
Even the simplest gestures, like the tying of a sacred thread or a shared moment of stillness, stayed with us.
